I shoot a lot of sport, but usually its inside and confined to a ring. However, last week I had the opportunity to go and shoot a full day of kids playing sports as part of the Tower Hamlets Youth Initiative Summer Hub Games 2015 at Mile End Athletic Stadium. The concept pits 6 boroughs in the East London district of Tower Hamlets against each other in a friendly sporting battle for supremacy, taking place over a full day of different sporting competitions. Hockey, Tennis and Ultimate Frisbee (my new favourite sport - think frisbee meets rugby!) started the day with Football and Golf coming next with Field Athletics planned for the afternoon. However, torrential rain put a kibosh on any Track and Field based activity due to the pitch becoming somewhat of a quagmire. This led to the sporting activity being halted early, which was a massive shame but spirits were high the entire time! A lot of fun was had by all participants regardless or weather conditions or winning or losing and I had a great time shooting the morning at least, so it wasn't all bad! Below are a few of my favourite shots of the day.
