Music runs in the veins of some people. They live it, breathe it and it permeates everything they do. Chris is one of these people. An actor by trade and having played from a very young age he loves his guitar like it was an extension of his arm (actual quote!). I got in touch with him to do a general portrait session and the plan was to do some standard headshots for both of our portfolios on a TFP basis, but when he brought the guitar along and started playing I got a whole bunch of ideas and took him to one of my favourite places in London, Leake St underneath Waterloo Tunnels.
A brief history on Leake Street: originally used for Eurostar maintenance tunnels but abandoned when the international terminal moved to St Pancras, this tunnel sat derelict for a little while before Banksy organised the Cans Festival in 2008. Since then its walls have been decorated with ever changing graffiti which makes every visit different.
Our shoot was a lot of fun, very focussed on Chris' musical side, but also with a nice mix of some straight up headshots and portraits, which are always fun! I love the photos from this shoot, check out my favourites below and the full album here.
