Socialist Party Protest at Islington Town Hall

On my way to a meeting in Islington this week I heard a commotion. Looking around to see the cause of the noise my eye was drawn to the often photographed Islington Town Hall. However, my eye wasn't a drawn to a wedding or civil ceremony, but instead a protest by the Socialist party campaigning against job cuts in local government. Having my camera on me I dove right in and took some photos, but couldn't stay for long as I had a meeting to get to...

I'm instantly attracted to political and social movements, I love the idea that people are passionate enough to flock together and make a stand for something they truly believe in. I don't have any political allegiances so to speak (I think they're all crooks and we're going to get misled one way or the other so I may as well not have any input) but I highly respect anyone who does and has the panache to speak up and make themselves heard (aside from UKIP, they can sod off quite frankly!).

I loved taking these photos as the people in them truly cared about the reason they were there, and you can't fake real passion.
