Wrotham Village Hall 75th Birthday

June 06, 2014  •  1 Comment

Village Hall birthday celebrations are not something that I get invited to every day, and when the birthday in question is for a 75 year old patriarch of a wonderful family my job becomes that much easier and more fun.

What they primarily wanted was family portraits, every family member had to be in a photo with Dave and his wife, which made for some lovely moments including four generations in one photo! However, the details are what made the day into a story for me. The little things made the day quite special for me - the teacups had a wonderful wartime slogan on them; the photos laid out next to a cake with a wartime photo of Dave as an army medic; newborns and pensioners playing together; the presentation of the flowers and the tearful speech by the daughter declaring her father as her hero. These are the instances that told the story of the day: an inspirational man truly loved by his family.

Thank you Oli, you made what was a very special day for our family even more special. Photographs are memories that cannot be taken away. The posed ones and the natural ones. Each picture tells something about our family, which you may not be able to put into words. we will treasure these thank you again x
