Street Photography

Living in London I often get flashes of photography inspiration whenever I step out of my front door, but its very rare that I get the chance to act upon these glimmers of a concept and work them into a fully fledged photograph. Recently, however, I have made a point to get amongst the hustle and bustle and discover my city through my lenses.

Looking for photographic moments on the street was difficult for me, but being open minded as I sauntered through this vast city enabled me to see things in a different light - rather than walking to or from somewhere I allowed myself simply to wander and go where my feet wanted to go. Generally I end up in places I knew well, such as Camden and Covent Garden, but I also ambled in the backstreets of Soho and through Carnaby St which are places I know quite little about. Exploring them with my camera was a joy.

I wanted to try something a bit different with my Camden photos and I used a tweaked Fujifilm Emulator preset in Lightroom to give an analogue feel to the set. Generally I stay away from a heavily edited feel but I felt that as this was as side project I could allow myself a little experiment.
